managing change!
Change, Change, Change…
Now that your comfort zone has been eroded and change has forced you to rethink and reevaluate your life and circumstances you are probably mumbling ‘if only I had done this’, if only I had done that…things would have, might have been different. Really!? The fact is, times change, things change and people change. Add to that, the way we do business has also changed. So, let’s implement a success plan and move forward.
First, accept that the world has evolved. And, given the influence of the World Wide Web and its impact on globalization, the only remaining constant in life is change. How you manage it within your sphere from this point forward will determine how you progress along the path to success. Here are some questions to tickle your thought processes and hopefully stimulate action:
These questions are not to be taken lightly. They are the core of the changes we are experiencing. When you can answer each of those questions with a resounding YES, you will be ready to manage change as it happens wherever you may find yourself.
- It all happened when you took your eyes off your goals.
- It happened when you got comfortable in your place of employment.
- It happened when your job became the primary area of focus in your life.

- Are you open-minded?
- If going back to the “brick and mortar” classroom is not an option for you at this time or stage in your life/career, are you willing to explore other avenues…for example: using online resources?
- Will you accept a lower salary or travel a few miles further for your next employment opportunity?
- Are your skills and experiences relevant?
- Can you feel comfortable being supervised by, and, are you willing to learn from someone who is half your age and by your standards or experience, not nearly as competent?
- How about working with and or living amongst people who are different from you racially, ethnically, physically, or even practice a different lifestyle?
- Are you competent with the computer and social media devices?
- Do you listen and communicate well?
